Visa and Travel Info

Visa Information

Most participants from countries with visa-waiver agreements (e.g., the United States, EU countries, Japan, Singapore) can enter the Republic of Korea without a visa for stays up to 90 days for academic purposes.

Participants from other countries (e.g., China, Russia, Vietnam) may need to apply for a C-3 Short-Term Visit Visa. Please check your visa requirement via the official Korea Visa Portal.

When asked for the purpose of your visit, choose: “Short Term Visit”.

Invitation Letter

If you need an official invitation letter for visa purposes, please contact:

  • scet26@korea.ac.kr

Please include the following information:

  • Full name (as in passport)
  • Affiliation
  • Passport nationality
  • Expected travel period

Travel to Seoul / KIAS

Arrival Airports

  • Incheon International Airport (ICN): Main international airport (~65 km from KIAS)
  • Gimpo International Airport (GMP): Mostly domestic and short-haul international flights

Transportation from Incheon Airport to KIAS

  • By Airport Railroad (AREX): Take AREX to Cheongnyangni Station, then a short taxi ride or walk to KIAS
  • By Airport Limousine Bus: Take a bus to Dongdaemun or Cheongnyangni → taxi to KIAS (~5–10 min)
  • By Taxi: ~1–1.5 hours, approx. 80,000 KRW (depending on traffic)
